Hi Helen
I've never felt I could make sense of a knitting pattern, but I've been busy looking at your source code! And that excites me - even helped me sort out one of my Javascript "problems".
Congratulations on the website.
Nicki.

It's like someone gave me this huge box of fascinating materials to rootle around in. What is? Not just this project...the whole web, I suppose. So far I'm enjoying the small fragments that I've seen of both.

Helen, there is so much 'woven' into your site. As a fellow scientist I am most impressed. I'm sure I've only managed to look at a small part so far. There are some beautiful & touching images. I shall be back to explore deeper.
From: Derek Brown, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
This fascinating site gives a poignant insight into the hardships endured by the framework knitters of Nottingham. I found the page on the Luddites particularly moving (but oh dear, the download time is painfully slow here in Saudi Arabia). Perhaps those with an interest in the finding out more about framework knitters would care to visit www.hartshorns.com. This site traces the history of the Hartshorn family from about 1580 to the present day. The Hartshorns were framework knitters (and Luddites perhaps?) in Arnold, Nottingham, from the 1630's until late in the 19th century.
Well done Helen.

It's all exactly the same as what I am doing writing/creating a play for Northern Broadsides about women and weaving.
