How to submit
a News Item
We publish a wide selection of news of interest to writers,
including competitions, events, readings, exhibitions, websites
etc. Submit your news to our database via the form below.
Items are checked by an editor and then released to the
appropriate news page, usually within 2 working days. If
we feel your item is suitable for the front page too, we'll
also feature it there.
Guidelines
1. Your news item should be relevant
to writers. We also feature general arts, academic and online
news if we feel it would be of interest to our users, but
reserve the right not to display your item if it does not
meet those criteria. For websites, ezines, etc., please
indicate whether you are looking for readers, or for contributors
as well.
2. Please use sentence case throughout.
That means writing your entry in lower case, using capitals
only for the beginning of sentences and proper nouns - just
the way this page is written. DON'T SHOUT IN CAPITALS!
3 When adding the date, avoid transatlantic
confusion by always entering the day first
and then the month , and don't forget to
put in the year, e.g., 14/01/01 for 14th January 2001.
4 Items are more likely to be featured
on the front page if they fit in with the general style
of trAce. Familiarise yourself with current news to get
a sense of the style of writing we feel is most effective.
5 If your browser does not support
forms, you can email your news in plain text format to trace@ntu.ac.uk .
6 Read through and check your text
before submitting, paying special attention to the accuracy
of dates, urls and email addresses.
7 We reserve the right to refuse
to display any item which breaches our Code of Conduct.
