List of Toolbox tricks
Featuring useful
tips, tricks and tools for writers, all contributed by trAce
members. A spreading pool of knowledge composed of shared skills and
expertise and backed up by live surgeries in the trAce
chatroom.
At this stage we
are looking for mini-tutorials on specific topics of use to writers.
Tutorials could include technical topics like:
- how to upload
a webpage;
- how to
compress an image file;
- how to create
a mailing list;
- where to go
for free software,
- MOO
programming tips,
- how to use
sound on your website etc,
as well as
informational topics like
- beginners'
introductions to writers, artists, theorists and critics;
- self-help for
RSI and other keyboarding injuries;
- how to submit
work for publication,
- writing
exercises,
- how to deal
with rejections and writer's block etc.
How
to send your submission
We prefer your
submission to be sent as a URL which will link to your own
ready-made webpages but we can turn your word-processed documents
into webpages if necessary. In either case, copyright remains with
you.
We regret that
we cannot offer payment but if we use your contribution we will send
you your choice of trAce t-shirt, Incubation shoulder bag, or Noon
Quilt book.
For a useful
model on how your contribution might be structured, see the page
created a while ago by trAce mentor Kaz Madigan on using colour in
your website:
